Whether you prefer to wash your delicates by hand, or need to clean a garment with a care label that recommends handwashing, we’re here to help with step-by-step instructions for how to hand-wash your clothes.
What you’ll need:
- A clean tub or sink
- Liquid laundry detergent
- Water
Step One: Check the care label of your garment.
Step Two: Fill a clean tub or sink with water (make sure to reference the water temperature indicated on the care label) and add a small amount of liquid laundry detergent.
Step Three: Add your garment and submerge in the water. Carefully agitate the garment, being gentle so as to avoid damaging the fabric.
Step Four: Drain the tub or sink and fill with clean water. Continue gently agitating the garment to remove any remaining detergent. Repeat as necessary.
Step Five: Use a clean, dry towel and press the garment to remove any excess moisture. Hang or line dry the item.
Our Research and Development team conducts extensive testing, which informs our laundry care guides. Experience the ultimate deep clean and care with Persil®—where every wash counts.
Performance and fabric care are the focus of our research and development, always aiming for the best results for our customers. To achieve this, we carry out numerous extensive technical tests. This is the only way we can ensure that we are offering quality that you can trust.
We use a special stain machine to dirty garments with common substances such as cocoa, makeup, lipstick, red wine or engine oil. These even, almost identical stains provide the ideal conditions for comparative wash tests, which are carried out using hundreds of washing machines made by different manufacturers. This procedure allows us to achieve our goal: to help keep your clothes looking newer for longer.
