Enzymes are bio-based cleaning agents that act as a catalyst to unleash the power of a deep clean with every wash – even at low temperatures. There are different types of enzymes, each of which is specialized in the removal of certain stains and impurities (fat, starch, protein, and more), leaving your clothes clean and cared for.
Surfactants are the main components of most detergents and cleaning agents. They remove stains and dirt from clothes. Two groups of surfactants used in Persil® detergents are anionic surfactants, which are effective at cleaning soils, and nonionic surfactants, which are excellent in removing tough grease stains. All our surfactants are biodegradable.
Polymers in laundry detergent have various important functions and often make the special effect of a detergent possible. Persil® uses different polymers to achieve different laundry detergent cleaning properties. Anti-reposition agents, for example, help keep dissolved soil stable in the wash, preventing its redeposition on textiles.
